It Me!

It’s super worth having a fancy gym membership in New York City, in my opinion! Especially one that has multiple locations throughout the city. Sometimes it’s worth it just to use the restroom.
Equinox is usually the go-to when it comes to luxe facilities in the city. There have been a few blogs documenting the different amenities of those gyms, but none chronicling Life Time.
Life Time is now the largest luxury fitness brand in the U.S., with roughly 2x the locations of Equinox. They dominate in large-ish but not big enough for an Equinox cities, and suburban cities outside of the major metros.
I’m starting a series where I review Life Times throughout NYC. First off, I’m in Brooklyn for the Dumbo location.

Some street food can be hit or miss in NYC. I’ve ordered from carts that use prepackaged food, old meats and charge very high prices.
Thai Sidewalk is not one of them. The food here is just as good as some of the best Thai restaurants in NYC.
You can see the wok firing inside this tiny cart, where they are whipping up all types of Thai dishes for less than the price of a cocktail at the SoHo House down the street. I usually go for the pad kee mao (drunken noodles) with chicken. The flat noodles have an incredible caramelization to them and there is a good amount of heat.

Fast casual taco spot from the same team behind Casa Carmen in NYC. They clearly lifted a lot of visual cues from Los Tacos’ setup, but the tacos here are actually a bit better than what you get at Los Tacos in my opinion. They make all their tortillas in-house, and their salsas are incredible.
Their steak taco is S tier. One of the best I’ve ever had. Same with the Panucho Yucateco. They don’t have al pastor, so you can still get that at Los Tacos (which I think is still fantastic btw).

There’s nothing like a Jewish deli. The big comfy booths. The generous portions. The warm nourishment of Matzo ball soup, giant pastrami sandwiches and towering piles of fries.
I’m actually kind of surprised there aren’t that many Jewish delis or diners in NYC, a city with the largest population of Jewish folks in the country.
In fact, Liebman's Kosher Delicatessen is the last standing Jewish deli in the Bronx. I had never been to Riverdale before, but it was a very charming, beautiful neighborhood, and not too far off from the 1 train.
The Classic Pastrami & Corned Beef sandwich is definitely in the top tier of pastrami sandwiches I’ve ever had. Definitely up there with Langer’s Deli in LA and Katz’s in NYC, for comparison.

I’m really disappointed that I did not come here sooner! The Classic Pastrami & Corned Beef sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had. Complimentary coleslaw and pickles served. This is the type of spot you can sit and chat at for hours and they will not bother you. HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU MAKE THE TREK UP HERE!!
